Default pics from Mid america Omaha NE open track day

great time today went down to Mid america by omaha
hoosier tires stick like a mother once warmed up and the hotchkis sway bars helped out huge in the corners along with the DRM custom valved bilsteins, need to get camera mount for next time dammit!

got the play cat and mouse with my friend in their c5 vert and another guy in a c5 z06, it was fun to chase them down and have them chasing me on the track, cant beat that until you got stuck behind someone slower in the no passing zones then it slowed the pace down.

think we got in 5 20 minute sessions. went through a whole tank of gas when racing it goes down fast

hit 135 on straight away

120 on 2nd straight, was pulling over 1g in most turns

anyone who has been to MAM on the front S i was really flying through that i was surprised with sticky tires and good suspension how fast you can fly through there compared to my 01 z06.

about 15 cars there for the sessions we ran

08 m3
my z06
03 z06
boxster new style special edition
bmw 535xi
gt500
a few c'6s
a nismo 350
some kinda civic

unfortunately no action shots or videos, well atleast for now. 1 guy was taking pics that didnt bring his car, will post them if i ever see them

guess that is the only good reason for taking the g/f along

1xx of 250 made

Civic went off track at some point

Gt500 is putting down 660 at the wheels and 606 trq, they never put in a cooler thermo so it overheated 1st time out so could only run 4-6 laps or so a session so he is getting a 160 thermo in next week

Nismo was no challenge not sure if he was running slicks or not

THAT is pretty impressive !!! Considering the SCCA T-1 pole is usually in the 1:42 range and I think their lap record is 1:40.

A friend who's local and runs MAM 2-3 times a month for the last 6 years, (C5 w/ 383 475 RWHP, C/Os, bars, Toyos, Wilwoods etc) only runs 1:45s !!!

As a matter of fact, the average mid-race lap time for an SCCA V-8 tube framed GT1 car is in the 1:38/1:39 - 1:40 range.

Were you on street tires ???

You should go WTW !!!

i will have to get a track timer next time if they still rent those??

i am pretty sure it was closer to 1:45 then 1:43 though. really hard to tell when flying down the straight away that fast. i used the overhanging bridge as the marking spot for the end of the lap.

i had hoosier r6 all the way around, my hotchkis sway on the stiffest setting, and carbo tech xp 12/10 combo for the brake pads.

the carbo techs in front sure got ate up have about 1/2 a pad worth left. sorta dissappointing, good thing i only paid $50 for the front set that was only used 1 session before

also surprised at how few cars were there maybe alot of people were at the sand hills this weekend though

That would put you right in with many of the faster track cars, driven by guys w/ some MAM experience - CONGRATS !!!

140 MPH headed into corner one seems pretty speedy

I'm glad you got the chance to push those shocks alittle bit harder!!!

Randy
You should put a easy-up tent around the pits, it looked very hot in the paddock
