Mikey, just like last year . . . you're always trying to catch me. A little more motor, and you just might be there!
Patrick, you might want to find one with the Beast in front of me. Mike is a sensitive kind of guy.

OK I really like the 2nd pic from the top! Thanks for that!
That was my first NCM event (and I hope to go to more of them), truly one of the most memorable DE's I have attended ever. Highlights for me:
Perfect weather, absolutely perfect, could not have been better if we wanted. Amazing for August.
The races:
ALMS
Speed GT races with my son the two days prior to the event!
The Corvette Coral at the races, not sure how many Vettes showed up for the corral on Saturday, but their had to be well over 150 of them, C1, C2's, C3's, C4's. C5's, C6's and one new ZR1...
Seeing GM show up with at least 10 new ZR1's and some Z06's and employees to drive them in every run group from Novice to Instructor. Also those guys really can drive them well and are definitely passionate about the cars. My impression is they still want to push the performance envelope on the Corvette and that is a good thing for all of us! I really doubt Ford, Chrysler, Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, or Audi could match that kind of dedication, involvement and commitment with their customer base! Props to Tom and his crew!
Also yes the ZR1's were FAST.
Completely Blow the doors off a stock Z06. I think they set a have a setting for ludicrous speed on them... I think it looks best in Black, Carbon Fiber roof stands out a bit less, maybe black with some red trim rings on the wheels (one of the GM guys did that on a Z06 and it looked sharp).
Getting passed by Andy Pilgrim
(and probably Randy Pobst too) on track at Road America... OK how cool is that? No he wasn't driving that car, it kinda had a meltdown in turn 5 Sunday...
Great students, continuous improvement both days and a very well run event, great coordination and communication.
Oh and dinner was great also, definitely go to the banquet dinner!

Burning Brakes
Another fantastic NCM event thanks to the museum staff, GM, and in particular Tom and Roc. And don't forget all the people that chipped in their time to keep the event moving smoothly.
This being my first trip to Wisconsin I was educated with the beauty of this region and the friendlyness of its citizens. The weather was perfect with sun and 70s from Thursday through Tuesday (it is raining here at the Milwaukee airport Wednesday morning). I want to claim credit for the dry weather due to bringing my full race wets from Seattle.
My two students, Dennis and Eric, were a pleasure to work with and it was gratifying to see the significant improvements in their skills and confidence. In particular Dennis, as a first timer, made great strides and learned so much more about himself and his car. If you have never tried this, the NCM events are a great place to start!
The track! Road America is a fantastic facility and very well maintained. Included with the ALMS activities a company was selling time on a high quality RA driving simulator. I drove it 1-1/2 hours on Saturday night to jump start the learning process. It is a flowing, high speed design that rewards accurate lines and the Z06 really eats up the miles!
It was fun to see partners in crime Mike, Don, Art, Steve, Frank, John, Rudy and all the others. In particular I have to thank Patrick for agreeing to drive my truck/trailer/car the 4000 round trip miles to the event from Seattle. There is nothing better than spending time with other Corvette owners and learning a new track while driving your own car!
BTW I sure like the dark grey ZR1. In the bright sunlight the blue flakes in the metalic paint really pop and bring out the blue brakes and badges! GM really hit it out of the park with this car!

Was Patrick the only person there with a camera?
