Default UN-NASCAR TV: Monterey Edition

No F1, IRL, ALMS, or Rolex Series races this weekend.

Many of us left coast enthusiasts will be at the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca to see:

- Mario Andretti driving his 1978 F1 Championship winning "John Player Special" Lotus 79

- A 1908 Mercedes Grand Prix race car celebrating 100 years on-track

- 30+ 1966-1972 Camaro, Mustang, Firebird, Javelin, Baracuda and Challenger Trans-Am cars

- 20+ 1966-1974 McLaren, lola, McLeagle and Shadow Can-Am cars

- 20+ 1966-1974 Ferrari, Brabham, McLaren, Tyrell, Lotus, Shadow, March, and Penske Formula 1 cars

- 30+ 1964-1983 FIA Sports Race cars, including John Morton driving Corvette Grand Sport chassis #4

- 40 1963-1966 Corvette, Cobra, Porche, Jaguar, Shelby GT-350 and other production sports cars, including Dick Gulstrand driving a '63 Z06.

- 30+ 1972-1981 Dekon Monza, Porche 935's and other histoic IMSA cars, including Bobby Rahal driving a BMW M1

- Hundreds more historic Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Talbot, Delage, MG, Ferrari, Austin, Laganda, Ford, Triumph, BMW, Miller, Chevron, Devlin, Jaguar, Lister, Devin, Aston Martin and other marques spanning racing history from the 1920's thru the 1980's.

- In addition to the races, there are the RM, Russo & Steele, Bonham and other car auctions (an '09 ZR-1 will be auctioned at RM); The Quail, Concorso Italiano, and Pebble Beach Concours D'Elagance; the Pebble Beach Tour and Pacific Grove auto rally.

This is a yearly pilgramage for me, but everyone who can should go at least once to experience this event.

Nice website

GS #003 was in the paddock at last year's Historics but did not run on-track

Yeah, maybe Larry will have #003 there again this year ... a little reunion of sorts would be cool.
