Default Where do you guys get your brake dust boots?

I cooked my front caliper piston dust boots the last time I was on track so I need to replace them. I looked online at NAPA and O'Reilly's with no luck. Where do you get your boots (C5 calipers) and at what price? Thanks.

Don't bother, they will cook off in a heartbeat at the track. If you really want them, they come in the caliper rebuild kit from your Chevy store.

I agree with the previous post. If you are going to do any more track days, it's really useless to replace them. Just clean them off prior to pushing the pistons back into the caliper when replacing pads. The only place I know to get them is in the rebuild kit from Chevrolet. Gene Culley - GM Parts House- forum vendor has best price if you want to rebuild.

Wow, who would have thunk it. So what do you do for you dual purpose cars? Just let the pistons hang out in the wind?

Fred Beans Chevy, they have a web site. Complete seal kit is about $16/caliper and includes caliper bolts, pin grease, pin seals, dust seals, and fluid seals.

Even though you will smoke the dust seals, it still makes sense to rebuild your calipers at least annually if you track the car.

If you have enough experience, turn off your traction control completely (no competitive mode either). The reduced use of brakes will make seals and boots last much longer, just understand that the electronic nannies will not be there for you in a potential time of need.
