500 miles on Nurburgring
I would like to thank a few people who contributed to making me a VERY fast car.
QM, Patric delivered the QM600 camshaft
LGM delivered the LG Longtube headers
LGM delivered STOPTECH brakes
Hardbar delivered Penske 3 way adjustable and basic settings
EC tuned drivability and WOT
John Page delivered RPM transmission and Quiafe diff
John CCWheel delivered Corsair C10 and Toyo R888
It was an awsome stock performer, now its a beast
I drove down from Stavanger (in a race seat) to Nurburgring, that is aprox. 800 miles and a 2 hour ferry ride.
This is my second time to the ring and i am hooked, it is the most exciting track in the world, period
This year i did 32 or 33 laps, and the car was so easy to handle and i managed to get a BTG 7.51
Anyone remember Clarkson in Top Gear in a diesel Jaguar trying to master below 10 minutes ?
On dottinger hoe i did 184 mph on my gps track system, HUD was showing 192.
Only time i almost **** my pants was on flugplatz, i tried to duplicate Jan Magnussons famous jump, almost lost my car there, will never do that again
As always Fahrerlehrgang delivered a brilliant course, i can recommend them to anyone, fly in and rent a racecar, learn the ring sector by sector and during the three days we had 6.5 hours on our own , FLAT out
I was the only corvette, there was a majority of BMW, but we had a few 997 Turbo, 997 GT2, 997 GT3 RS and other brands also.
around 180 participants.
Devided into groups, rookies and routineer.
To become a routineer you have to participate 5 years OR be #1 of the rookies, i am pleased to achieve routineer status after my second visit.
Everybody has to run a flying lap while judges give you score for 18 locations around the track, you do not know where they are, as there are 100+ turns.
Score is 1 trough 10, where 10 is worst and 1 is world champion driving.
To achieve 1 you have to hit the race line 100%, at a 100% possible speed.
5 points are given if you hit the race line and speed will take you down on points or increase the points.
Longest stint i did was 9 laps flat out, i almost ran out of fuel, that is close to 128 miles non stop , this must be the best thing a person can do with the trousers on
After the course it was time for oldtimer grand prix and what a show they put on, all kind of old race cars flat out trying to kill them self, did not seem safe, but i guess Stirlig Moss had a valid point when he was interviewed.
" when i was racing, racing was dangerous and sex was safe, today racing is safe and sex is dangerous"
After the ring i drove 800 miles to Vålerbanen in Norway and set a new personal best 1.00.03, that is 2.63 seconds faster than last year and almost 4 seconds faster than a 997 GT3 RS with sequential transmission.
It was a great week and a BIG thanks to everyone that contributed to a really fast car
Will post up video on Youtube later, i have to get my laptop cleaned up, it crashes everytime i try too open the file

I was there a few weeks ago. Great time. I'm not familiar with the costs of organized events there, but a season pass for the track was 990 euros (about 15-1600 bucks). All things considered, that's not a bad price. (Me below in the silver rental car.)
