Flocking a Dashboard...
..I want to have my dash board flocked to get rid of any glare - I have run at MSR Houston a couple times in the late afternoon and heading west on the front straight at 119mph closing in on a 180 hairpin complex with a little setting sun glare hitting the old eyeballs is not fun.
So ---- are there any dashboard flocking services (maybe via a race car builder) in the USA, maybe even Texas.
I hit Google and find 6 such places in the UK on the first go round. But have not found a single US based dash-flocker.
I was thinking flocking will be a cheaper and easier alternative to having the dash covered with alcantara.
Anyone have any flocking idea where I should go?
Or am I pretty much flocked on this one?
Paul
(I figured I would get a few free flocks in as well )

You may want to consider something other than flocking, as adhering the flocking to the instrument panel may be difficult. You may even have to strip the "vinyl" that's on the I/P currently. I recall from my interior trim engineering days that before the flocking was applied to a glove box bin, the plastic substrate would be flame or corona treated to improve adhesion.
There are probably "do it yourself" kits available, primarily for restorers.
"Flock" is the "fuzz" that typically may be inside a glove box or console bin.

I can't help you on a shop that does it although you may want to hit up craft stores or shops that build photographic equipment. I found this web site that has DIY supplies. http://www.craftflocking.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page

Flocking, cool!
My brother and I bought a small plane after college. One of the planes we looked at was an old Aircoupe and the owner had installed fake Zebra fur on the dash to reduce glare. I "let" my brother take the test ride and when he landed the cockpit was filled with a cloud of ancient fake Zebra fur.
