Default Does anyone know where I can get a small alum. jack?

I want one of those small aluminium floor jacks that comes in a carrying case, so I can put it in my trunk and take it to the track with me. I looked online, but have not been able to find them.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with one with a carrying case, however, Harbor Freight makes a decent aluminum jack for around $80 (and as cheap as $50 when they're on sale). There's a Harbor Freight outlet near Woodbridge.

Most small jacks are steel, not aluminum. Sears has a low profile small jack they sell for $50-60. I don't know if it comes with a carrying case or not.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

I have seen a bunch of people with them at the track. I asked one guy, but he couldn't remember where he got it.

I will keep looking and maybe pick up the one at Harbor Freight as Ralph suggested, or go the Sears route (their jack looks kind of cheap though).

BTW Ralph, I didn't get a chance to talk to you and Mike yesterday... Rob told me that he saw you guys while I was on track (silver Z06... you instructed me at NASA last year). I will be at Summit this weekend for NASA, and I am sure that one of the Corvette crew will lend me a jack if I need one.

Sorry, I thought you were looking for those jacks that are a bit over a foot long that you can carry in the trunk of a car. The Harbor Freight (and most aluminum) jacks referred to that I've seen are "standard" in length, with a 4-5' handle.

Have a good one,
Mike

Ditto on the Harbor Freight jack. Mine gets so much use the Flintstone wheel is showing serious signs of wear.
