Awesome car, in the mag tests beat the z06 by a wide margin on road courses. I think some of the gap could be made up by the z06 if it were also running on pilot cup sports. I hear forum member Woosh has taken the plunge and is taking delivery of an ACR soon!

Is that the rev limiter he keeps banging? Every time I hear that sound I see the shifter shake. I counted two missed shifts, one time getting a little squirrely and that pulsing sound...and still a 7.22!
Could the ACR make it into the 7.1?'s That is one very fast car, but I must say the ZR1 looked alot less "on the edge".

I'm not sure what's up with the rattle in shifter though. Obviously with all of that torque you would have some movement, but the severe rattle? The car definitely looks like a handfull, very impressive indeed! The guys over at the Viper Club Forums are loving life...for the time being.

That's actually slower than I would have expected, that car should be in the teens on R-comps.
Edit: after reading the story, I now see why. Half a day to kill what took GM a few weeks, and Nissan well over a year to accomplish. Pretty astounding.

I guess the Viper fanboys can now claim the track was wet in two spots (ring a bell???) so the ACR should be able to shave 8 seconds by that alone and run 7:13 or so.

And, he didn't shift out of 4th gear on the straight, bouncing off the limiter the whole time. I thought the ACR was a 6 speed...I'm surprised that 5th would be too tall for that straight on the 'Ring though...
Still mighty impressive!
