May he R.I.P.

During the F1 coverage they mentioned that he was in the hospital. I empathize with his family. Yet, 81 years is pretty good.

I was lucky enough to drive Mr. and Mrs. Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Robbert Donner around Rattlesnake Raceway during the Chaparral grand opening. They were all so nice and thanked me for driving them.

We stopped so Mrs. Hill could take pictures of Phil with the track in the background. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. That looked like a great shot.

A very sad day, my interest in motorsports can be traced back to watching his quest for the '61 F1 championship on ABC's "Wide World of Sports"

Excelled where others could not. Survived where many did not.

He was the same age as my dad.
makes me value the time I have left with my dad. I see him slowing down but still in relatively good health.

God bless Phil. I had many enjoyable days watching his racing as a kid.
