Default Problems with C4...

I posted these over in the C4 Tech but though someone here may have an answer. I have been calling around but no one can give me any ideas on what the problem(s) could be.

The brake light isn't just for the e-brake, it also displays when there's an issue with the braking system in general.

You need to get the codes and see what they say.

Did you bleed the ABS?

Is the brake fluid topped off? A low level will trigger both lights.

In the past I had found an issue slightly with the brake light coming on when it should not be. In my case it would come on under high speed corners, mainly right hand ones. It seems that some play developed in the switch on the ebrake handle at first I could move the handle around and complete the circuit for it to shut off. Eventually I removed the emergency brake handle cover and pulled the single (I believe) wire off the switch to kill it for good. I would suggest you disconnect that switch to determine if it is ebrake related or not.

Probably not your issue but a simple thing to rule out.
