Default 265s on Stock Wheels

I'd like to upgrade my setup. I intend to drive to/from events on my tires and have pretty much resigned to R888s.

Will 265 / 305 tires fit and function on stock C6 wheels, and fit the car w/o rubbing? I do mostly AutoX and a few HPDEs.

I can't answer directly for R888's or those exact sizes, but maybe this will help.

I'm using Hoosier A6's for autocross in 285-30/18 & 315-30/19 sizes on stock wheels on my C6.

They fit fine and do not rub at all. To be honest, they look like a natural fit - line up nicely with the tops of the fender edges and don't stick out. However, keep in mind that I'm currently running -2.0 front / -1.1 rear camber to help the tires work well on-track. That much camber also helps avoid tire contact with the front fender somewhat, if there was any chance of contact otherwise. The car is also lowered slightly, corner-weighted and has a little toe-out in front, toe-in in the rear.

Moral of the story - I think you will be fine, but your actual results can vary based on how aggressive your alignment is, along with the sidewall profile & width of the particular tires you're using.

Front ... maybe. Back ... no. Look at the overall diameter and required wheel widths.

I think these sizes with the R-888's will work w/stock wheels. Check
Rear ..... 295/30R19Y
Front .... 255/35ZR18Y

I am using R888's on stock C6 wheels. 275/35 in front and 305/30 in rear with no problems.

I've driven on the predecessors to the R888 (Toyo RA1 and Nitto NT01) and they're great tires for dual purpose. Sorry I can't help you with your original question though.

BTW, I also live in Farmington. Hi neighbor.

That is good to know. The only concern I have is that the stock wheel is 1/2" too narrow for the minimum width for both of those tires. Diameters are fine.

The other sizes seem to meet the minimum wheel width spec. I wonder if that is important?

Same here except I was a little concerned with the 305's in the rear and went 295 . . . sort of dumb because it changed the rake by a good 1/2 inch. Why did I stay so agressive up front and wimp out on the rear? Still, my one and only track day so far on R888s was a huge success coming from OEM rubber, and the tire stayed on the rim. Whole nutha world. Bit more road noise over stock, however.

It is only out of recommended spec by 1/4" on either side. As you can see from CrystalRacer post, some folks push the envelope even more. At some point, even if the tire fits, you'll get diminishing returns.

I believe that the tire footprint with 275/305 is still better than what you get with the narrower tires and, as you noted, the diameters work well.
