I have never seen one at the track. For 30K there are better cars and faster cars out there. Not sure what class these would run either way.

That would not be my first choice. Find a gently used early C5 for about $15K and then spend the remaining $ you would have spent on that on mods. Strip the interior, cage, seats, some brakes and suspension work. You will end up with a car that is as fast and a lot more fun.
