Nice! Having just gone through the same process myself, you should be very happy.

Well, after driving around in them for a few days I've got some observations:

-They aren't terribly uncomfortable (the 3hrs to Putnam will be easy)
-They are DEFINATELY more supportive
-I'd say my 5/6pt harnesses will work 2x better being routed thru proper holes and not just around/through the stock seats
-They are DEFINATELY harder to get in and out of (like I didn't already know this)
-You feel every bump, crack, dip, and rock in the road. I think this will help when driving at 90%+ Feel more connected with what the car is doing for sure!

Just an update, still can't wait till try them out at the next HPDE! (maybe Nov1st)

I tried those seats out at the Pocono grand slam event and was amazed how comfortable they were.

where did you order them from and what did you pay if you don't mind sharing?

In Alain Prost's book, some of the first pages deal with seating. A proper seat, in a stiff mount will communicate what the car is doing and offer the driver the best feel, and allow the driver to drive and not simply hold on for dear life. This is a mod that not only enhances safety, but makes you go faster with the most control and feel for the track. Sliders not only cost you headroom, but have clearances (slop) and flex.

Nice seat Rob

Your next item should be a HANS or similar to go with it.

http://stable-energies.com/ & you can see their price right on the website. Shipping will hit a bit too, as the box isn't small.

Working on that John. Have an IO Port brace, but I'm going to have to modify the Sharkbar a bit to get it all to work. They'll both be properly braced by next year for sure. Thanks.

Thanks Bill. Hopefully get to try them out in the cold on the 1st!

Is it more important w/ a race seat to be using a HANs or just something you and Bill are both recommending figuring at this point I've spent the money to do the seats right? If I don't use a hans I'd be thinking about using at least a neck donut to help with all the stress on your neck. After a days HPDE my neck is sometimes a bit sore.

Modified them a bit. Painted the back of the shells a satin black, didn't care for the metal shine look.

Wow - the black paint on the seat backs and mounting brackets looks awesome, & very classy!

You've got a really great setup there...
