New Roll Cage, Fire Suppression and Kill Switch!
I decided to have a NASA and SCCA approved race roll cage complete with fire suppression system and kill switch installed in my C5 this week! I thought it a good idea to finally enhance the level of protection/safety provided by my vette - bringing it in line with my performance mods.
I'm having a local shop (Piper Motorsports) fabricate the custom roll cage, which I'll get a chance to drive with at VIR in November with Chin Motorsports and TrackDaze. I'm going to feel SO much better knowing that I'm protected by a professionally installed roll cage on the track.
I'll post some pics tomorrow if I get a chance to stop by the shop - definitely some pics next Saturday. The interior carpeting, OEM steering wheel, air bags, side windows and seat belts will remain in my vette. The roll cage will be painted the same color as the exterior of my car (Medium Spiral Gray)

MIke -- It's about time you got some real protection in that missle. Guess you call it a stealth / luxury racecar with full interior ?? I'll bet your next mod is a new hub and removable steering wheel. After you climb over and around that cage getting in and out a few times you will see what I mean.
