Default Track car in paint #2/Thanks Short-Throw!

Last week the paint shop primed the car. This week they put down the base color (blue) inside and out.

The next job is to add the orange accent color. At the same time today, we had the vinyl folks measure for the yellow accents, lettering to be affixed and the # aside the car.

Thanks again to Mike for not only helping Adam with his killer design, but stopping by the paint shop today to help layout the “cut in” lines for the 2nd color. That maniac must have 20 hours into my paint job alone by now. That’s 2nd only to Adam Boca’s hours on the design! Thanks a million guys.

Original scheme

Car primed last week

Here’s what she looks like with a little color added!

Next week I should have some updates to show with the orange 2nd color added. Once the roof and the rear wing are attached, this baby will really be taking shape.

Default Blue Beast

Tom your car looks great in color, that shade of blue really brings out the curves. I can't wait to see the Orange on it.Smart idea to paint the inside blue also.

Thanks guys. Mike and I spent some time today, tweaking the color orange to use.

Here's the first test panel we did on the rear bumper. We thought the orange w looked too much like a "pumkin" and had too much yellow in it. I'm going with a deeper orange that has more impact, fits better with the blue and looks more in keeping with Adam's rendering.

Also the orange won't run across the rear deck portion of the rear end panel. Ergo it will look exactly like the rendering. The only other change is that the top of the wing will be blue.

Tom,

It's not too early to sell ad sponsorships for your car!

Note that the photos above don't yet include the carbon fiber undertray and splitter that goes under the front nose. Ie. that finishes off the front fenders.

Pictured below is the part, prior to paint.
