On a local St. Louis talk radio show the topic of cars came up and then Corvette was mentioned. The host of the show Dave Glover made a comment like "Corvette drivers are douches"

So I called into the show and like that I'm talking to Glover. I tell him most that drive Vettes aren't douches. He asks what year I have and then I can hear what they said, then he says something like yeah Harley's and Corvette's are great machines...it's just that they are driven by douches..."even when I had my Harley I was a douch" and then the phone when dead, I turn the radio back on and heard the Harley comment again.

The think is that Chevrolet is a big sponsor of his show and gives his a car to drive, which he talks favorable about and then takes personal credit for how well the St. Louis Chevy dealers are doing because of his endorsements.

...I guess they won't give him a Corvette to drive?
Funny he admittedly qualifies as a douch.

I posted this in the C5, C6 general areas and in the 2 areas I hang out in: the C6 Z06 & here.

the general C5/C6 areas have a lot of action but here and the Z06 section Zero.

I find that interesting...not so much here but in the C6 Z06 area...I guess us C6 Z06'rs are mostly douche bags too.

I'm not taking it personal...the bigger point here is that he is getting paid by GM to drive and promote Chevy's and he is dissing their top of the line customers. I could care less about him having some fun with me on his show.

It's simple someone is jealous that his ex-wife/girlfriend left him for someone more interesting who just so happened to drive a Corvette. Next thing he will say is that Corvette owners have small "units". Take it with a grain of salt jealousy is everywhere, just because we have good taste shouldn't be a bad thing.

Don't forget that, on both radios and TVs, the single most important button is the "OFF" button. It's very unappreciated, and certainly under-used.

Aside from the guys who go to the track and drive these cars like they are meant to be driven....I've met a LOT of douchey vette owners.

Then again, I've met a lot of douchey ricers, bimmer owners, etc.....there's good and bad in every group.

That's why ya hang with the racers, not the waxers lol

No one in St Louis should be talking big. After 8 months of planning 55 Corvettes, 1 of EVERY model year, showed up for a pre-arranged picture on Kiener Plaza with the Arch in the background. The woman in charge who made all the plans tells us "I had you down for next week. Too bad nothing can be done." I sent the whole thread of emails to her and the reporter who interviewed me showing her emails with the date in the subject line. It's really something to see people putting literally thousands of miles on 40 & 50 year old Vettes, driving them instead of waxing, running down highways in heavy rains, only to have carefully laid plans just tossed off like it's nothing. So I don't think that anyone in St Louis should be throwing stones from their glass house.
