Default ZR1 underbody aero treatment

I had a chance to have a look at a ZR1 on a lift this evening (sold for the princely sum of $150,000) and noticed that the airdam is continue as 2 flaps on the front of the lower control arm.

Is it possible this flap is to stop the air entering the wheel wells?or might it be to direct airflow up into the front wheel wells?

I will try get back tomorrow and see if I can get some photos - but imagine a 3" x 8" piece of black ABS plastic attached to the front leading edge of the front lower control arm

YES

The ZR-1s control A arms are a differnt design then the Z06s so they could install a front diffuser type piece

also channeling air from the lower a-arms into the wheel well is another from of brake cooling.

yes could be for brake cooling. Porsche has had a piece like that for years. I bought them but never had a way to make it fit. There was a vendor selling a piece like that for the Vipers if it is indeed for the brakes. Someone in the Z section may have a picture.
