Peugeot 908 Crashes In Petit Le Man Practice Today
At about 3:40 this afternoon the Peugeot 908 took a hard lick into the outside concrete wall in turn 12 leading to the front straight. The driver is fine but they have a lot of work to do by next week for qualifying.
I just got over there after he hit and they were all saying the tire must have went down cause it rolled right off the rim before he hit. again!
Here are a few shots I took before they unloaded it & closed the doors on us.

Nice on-scene reporting Aaron! Thanks for the shots - glad to hear the driver was okay but yeah - the car will probably need an alignment at least.

We are testing with the #30 Intersport Racing P1 car and John and Clint remain on Dunlops in their #37 car. The #30 car will have Kumho's on for the race as well.

Why has there not been an official announcement of Kumho returning to work with Intersport Racing? The # 30 Lola B06/10 AER first had Kumhos at Road America last month. What teams and cars tested today with Kumho?

If you are waiting for Intersport to make an announcement, don't. They only pay their pr guy to write a post race story. No pre-event, no qualifying, no in between event stories. I know, because I used to write for them.

This just in! Just heard over the radio the Peugeot 908 is rolling down pit road. Great to see it back in less than 24 hours of being pretty much destroyed.
They were working all thru the night & they still have till 5 pm today to make sure all is well and then take a break till wed.
On another note, they are running pretty hard out here considering this is ONLY a practice. The Audi's decided to only test today and they already pulled 1 from the gravel trap in 10A.
The #66 Panasonic car of De Farren lost it this morning and caught the outside concrete wall at the top of the hill in 2-3. Car didn't look too bad though.
The #8 Mazda BK P2 car lost it as well going under the bridge to 12 and went to the outside concrete wall pretty good. BK is running their new closed cockpit here and it looks pretty cool. I'll get pictures posted later of that and some others. I have been roaming around from turn to turn getting shots and watching.

I do have to say, I wish I had the Audi brakes on my T1 car. You guys should see/hear where they are braking coming into 10A. I stood there drooling and watched him for 5 laps or so and everytime he hit the brakes at the 100 foot mark. Now I don't know the exact speed but I bet they are close to 185 MPH give or take a few. That just makes me sick.
A few others have been going off here and there too but no contact.
Ok back to work, I think I'll head back to the esses. Seems to be a good spot to watch.
Till later,
Aaron

The autocon car was at corner exit of 12, and the peugeot tried to miss them, but did not succeed. No tire down, just a misjudgement.
I see you under the Kumho tent on the net Aaron
