Exactly!!! Can't wait to get my hat handed to me by one at the track! 'Course, I'm just an HPDE guy, so it could go the other way too.

GM owns that car and it was brought to that event by a girl......a very fast girlie by the name of Karen Rafferty. I knew she was going to be there , she had called to see if I was coming up. Karen is a BIG shiet GM marketing executive.......She posses a several National Championships including the one that she won in my ASP rocket......

I was busy painting the garage...................

What's wrong with the appearance? Or was that remark made
tongue-in-cheek?

Yeah...sad excuse.

Just to paint the picture.

Top Pax was Greg Lloyd with a 39.5 in his ASP Convertable Vette that is RAFT prepared on Hoosier.

2nd in pax was me in a lowly me in my ESP Camaro with a 40.5 on Hoosier.

Karen ran a 41.2 on stock runflats...sure they are super compound run flats but that is great nonetheless. In my opinion after watching that car around the course it appears that the ZR1 is just that much better for autox than the C6Z06. The power just seems very manageable.

I got to ride with Karen on Sunday and was very impressed with the car. It was a blast. Yes, she REALLY wanted to have some A6s on the car, as she couldn't even beat the OLDEST Corvette at the event. She ran a 42.1 (not a 41.2) in the second heat, while my old '68 ran a 41.4 in the cooler 1st heat. She ran in 1st the whole time.

It seemed like the ZR1 (just like all C4s, C5s & C6s) corners faster than my old car, but I can get to the corners a bit faster, being a lighter car, that's just as traction limited as the newer Corvettes. It did have more body roll than my car, but it IS a "street" car.

Incredible car. Would have been interesting to see what RAFT RACER would have done in the car!!

Hmm...Karen is registered for my club's event this Sunday in her Grand Sport. I wonder if this car will make another surprise appearance?

There was a silver ZR1 on display at Coronado Speedfest this weekend, with a GM engineer standing by it. It drew lots of attention.

I bet it didn't sound as good as your car does.

I have never posted a photo so this may not work, but if it does, here is a photo of the ZR1 and driver in action.

Mike, will you describe your set up? I have a 68 and I am slow, slow, slow. Unfortunately I wrecked it a couple of months ago and I'm currently looking for a new frame and fiberglass. But since I'm rebuilding it I'd like to do it right so I will know that problem is me and not the car.

While it is a beautiful car sitting still, seeing it handling and at speed is when you appreciate it.
