Default One Lap of America 2009

Brock has put out a more finalized 2009 schedule:

Start: Saturday May 2nd: Tire Rack headquarters, South Bend, In
Autobahn Country Club
Sunday: Bluegrass Motorsports Club
Monday: Talladega Grand Prix Raceway
Tuesday: Sebring International Raceway
Gainesville Raceway
Wednesday: Daytona International Speedway
Thursday: Carolina Motorsports Park
Friday: BeaveRun Motorsports Complex
Finish: Friday, May 9th: Tire Rack, South Bend

Prelim numbers are 3200 miles total
Longest transit 600 miles
shortest one less than 300.

Looks like I could stay at home for 3 of the nights and still make it to the tracks on time, Daytona 50 minutes, Sebring 3.5 hours, CMP 7 hours. 3200 miles is really short but still some great tracks.

Tirerack, autobahn and bluegrass... I could make it to all 3 of them. very tempting. I'm sure I will know a bunch of the drivers again this year. tirerack 45 minutes, autobahn 3 hours, bluegrass 5.5 hours

Wow! Pretty short route but I am in for next year in one of the Mongoose GTP Corvettes.

Hopefully Mr. Popp will join in again. Should make one hell of a team.

I was debating on running the One Lap. It depended on the schedule.

I will be running it this year.

I will be in a RAFT Prepped C6 Z06.

It's on my 2do list, I have a feeling it's going to stay there now that I don't have a street legal ride.

Edited because my first post made me sound like an **** which I am not usually know for

"When will he give it a proper name, like One Lap of some of the East Coast?"

I was just messing around, really!!!!!

"

OK, cool **** event, I have thought about it a few times but I live in the West and like it better so do not travel to the East often."

Things can change quickly in life, my daughter just moved to Boston for school and now my son may head there soon as well. I decided to mark all the race tracks I would want to run on West then East coast, holly sheat batman, there are a lot more tracks, a lot closer together than I ever considered before, dang! I may relocate there next year myself!!!

A true One Lap would be awfully tough to get enough entrants in this or maybe the next few years, if ever again, too dang many miles to travel.

"HAVE FUN those that go!!!

Rick"

Just 18 months ago I was driving down some mountain in the freakin snow in Colorado leaving SLC during the OLoA after driving across Wyoming in another snow storm getting to SLC, and 4 years ago California was on the schedule.

I like the florida business, Plus what will be our home track (Bluegrass), and one of my 3 most comfortable tracks in the country (BeaveRun).

I have a strong feeling it's going to be a Corvette kinda year ala 2003 with Vettes going 1-2 at least, hell maybe 1-2-3-4.

Mikah,
I would need a transit driver to help with the track to track driving if you are interested. You look about my size so we wouldn't have to use a shoe horn to get you into the GTP.

Aaron
