Default Monticello Track

Here's a short vid I made of Monticello today. We ran the south course, it was fun, short, but fun.

I was trying to get some video of my friend Ludmilla in her Lambo, but I included a full lap (where I am behind the Ferrari), which has a special ending....

It wasn't that bad...It wasn't really fast, but one Lotus did wrinkle up his front end first session.

I'll make a copy of the entire tape and bring it over. It will be just like you were there.

was it worth the $450 with the rain ?
It's a great time of year to be upstate anyway.
Beautiful driving up there on RT 17.

The rain really didn't affect us much - It rained during lunch, so we didn't get wet, it stopped by the time lunch was over, and the sun came out shortly thereafter.

Our first session after lunch was just damp, but I still took it easy. Thier track (right now) is still very grippy when wet since the surface is not finished. They only have two binding layers on, so it's a little bit rough, and the moisture doesn't sit on the surface. When they do the top compacted finish coat, it will be super smooth, and super grippy when dry, but not as much when wet (they'll also be putting in the proper curbing and modifying the track just slightly).

Now, was it worth $450?? I dunno. It's a nice facility, but the South course is small, technical, and not fast. I like a little bit of speed mixed in, and a nice long straight. But it's still better than a day at work.

Would I go back again to the South course for $450? No. $350? No. $250? No. $150? Maybe.

Would I do the full course for $450? Yes. $550? Yes. $650. Hmmm.....
