Default I guess I need a catch can???

While unloading my car last night after doing Monticello, I saw some drips of oil on the trailer. I then looked under the car, and all over the bottom of the nose was oil. So I shut the lights off in the garage and went to bed.

So this morning I get up and want to investigate where it's coming from...It looked like it was coming out of that weird pump in the nose, but all the hoses coming in and out were dry.

Then I saw a drop of oil on the flexible intake pipe, so I removed it...Ah...So is this bad?

That amount of oil is way more than would ever get by the PVC system and be caught in a catch can. You have a rather substantial leak some where on the front of the motor. Clean it down and run it on the street for a few miles to see where it is leaking and fix it !

My plan is to get in front of you, and lay down a 'Spy Hunter' style oil slick.

It came out of the intake...Traveled down to the air box, and dripped out from there.

I did clean it all out, and drove only a few miles yet (No smoke from the exhaust or any more leaks). The track I was on when this happened was 3rd gear all day long at 5000-6200rpm.

Is that a C5 or C6? Z06 ?I have seen many C6 Z06s with leaking stock oil coolers and quick-connections.When the cooler first starts to leak from the core the oil gets swept upwards by the incoming air and into the engine air inlet, soaking the air filter. It's just a thought,as what you have going on may be something else.
