Default Auto X tire pressure ???

What tire pressure is recommended for stock GY Z06 size tires when auto x'ing?

Thanks for the help,
Charley

Update: I guess that I should add that this is a C6 not a C5...if that makes a difference.

Since you running stock tires I'm going to assume you're new to autox. Because of that I'd recommend you inflate the fronts to 40 lbs and the rears to 36 lbs. This will prevent you from damaging the tires from overdriving them into the corners, which you will do.

Have fun.

Assuming as Mr. Bere did that you're new to the sport, grip is not going to be what's holding you back.

Ditto on the having fun part too!

Have a good one,
Mike

Thanks for posting the question... while I'm not planning on many autocrosses on the street tires, it IS good food for thought.

I'll be trying these settings this weekend..

My Dad and I co-drove his new C6Z at the last event and I ended up running his tires at 29frt 27rear. These were hot pressures. Seemed to work well for the car.

You are correct... I am just a beginner just starting out. I went to one practice event several months ago and found out how much I have to learn. This weekend I have another practice event on Saturday and a race on Sunday. My tires are very near the end of their useful life (expecially the rear). I have a new set in the garage waiting to be installed...but I thought I would wait until after the weekend before I put on the new rubber.

Also, I just updated my original post ....My car is a C6...not a C5. Does that change your tire pressure recommendations?

Thanks for the help.
