I saw this in Road & Track

http://www.dynolicious.com/

Anyone with an iPod or iPhone try this yet?

It's a data acquisition application that uses your iPod's or iPhone's built in accelerometers.

It's only $13

So for the cost of a GTech, you can have data acq and an iPhone.

I got it last summer and found the 1/4 mile features to be very nice. The G force portion stores the max in all directions on any given run. There was no implementation of GPS on it as of last summer but there have been a few updates with some new features but I haven't had a chance to try it in months. For $12.99 you can't go wrong.

I have been in contact with them because I have BlackBerry storm and was hoping to get them to make a version for my phone. It looks to be pretty cool but I am not sure of accuracy.

I haven't been to a dragstrip to check accuracy but there is a calibration procedure for it and I would think that should make accuracy fairly reasonable. Even if it's not, you can get a good baseline and work on engine mods or launch technique. The more horizontal you keep the unit during your run, the more accurate it would be. But it works pretty well standing at an angle in my cup holder.

Yes, this is a very cool thing! I have a friend who has played around with it, and it sounds pretty accurate. Whether as a fun toy, or a baseline to check out effects of changes, pretty darn cool for $15. Poor Gtech...

i have one. it's actually pretty spot on when compared to a gps based data telemetry boxes.

And those both agree with the G meter in the HUD for lateral Gs.

I've had it for awhile now, I love it except it keeps rubbing in my face how bad my 60' times are. 2.5-2.7. I brought it up to Sacramento when I went to the strip and it was real close. Strip said 12.67 @ 121 and the iphone said 12.72 @ 123. My dunlops suck I've ordered some bfg dr. As long as it never tells me I'm faster than I really am I'll be happy. I havnt made it to the Dyno since putting on the procharger but the phone claims 454rwhp
