Default 3 ***** Racing 2009 Open Track Schedule

The 2009 3 ***** Racing schedule is coming together. The following events are already booked, and I am working on more.

Saturday, April 25th at Gingerman in South Haven, MI.

Saturday, May 9th at Grattan in Belding, MI.

Friday, June 12th at Waterford Hills in Clarkston, MI.

Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th at Grattan in Belding, MI. Sunday will be run backwards.

Saturday and Sunday, August 29th and 30th at Calabogie near Ottawa, Canada. This track is worth the drive if you want to go to a top tier road course. I had several people drive up with me last year, and they have already said they are going again.

Saturday, October 17th at Gingerman in South Haven, MI.

All the events in Michigan cost $165. However, if you register and sign up early, the cost drops to $150. This includes lunch and drinks throughout the day. The cost for the Calabogie event is yet to be determined, but expect the cost to be about $240/day.

We run with four groups separated by driver skill and vehicle potential. Beginners are encouraged to join us. Instructors are available and there is a classroom session in the morning for beginners.

To register and sign up, please visit 3ballsracing.com. If you have questions, please let me know.

Thanks
Ken

Are any cars welcome?? I have a friend with a LT1 equipped '53 Chevy and a friend with a Civic who would be interested along with myself in the Waterford Event.

Wholly cowl - I wish we had prices like that in the mid-atlantic to north east area.

Yes, any car is welcome (assuming it's safe). Trucks and SUV's are not welcome. We normally have vehicles ranging from Civics to Subaru's to Vettes.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

3Balls runs a great event. I'll be at as many as I can, Grattan being the most likely.

My friend's '53 chevy is a truck, but it has Camaro suspension and it handles really well. he has raced it at Road Atlanta before.

We have never allowed any trucks at our events. However, I am currently working with another local club to have a truck run group at an event. This group would be all trucks (Lightning, Chevy SS, Dodge SRT-10, etc). Otherwise, I don't plan on letting trucks and cars out on the track together. I know some clubs do, but as with a lot of rules this is one that varies. As someone driving a 2000lb car that sits barely 40 inches off the ground, I am uncomfortable with the idea of sharing the track with a vehicle more than twice my size.

ScaryFast,
Thanks for the compliment. Hope to see you out there.

There are a few updates for the schedule:

Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th at Grattan have been added.

Also, we now have a Frequent Baller program. After attending 5 track days, you will get the 6th day free. Just doing our part to help the economy going.

Thanks
Ken

Mike,
This would really be a great event for you to soak up the track time and get your feet wet passing and dealing with traffic. Plus, you won't find a better price in our backyard to go to besides a Neslons fun day.

Make sure you get some brake ducts on that car if you don't already have them, plus the accusump I saw you asking about in another thread.

You will fit right in with these Corvette guys and I know you won't have any problems going fast.

Aaron -

Thanks! I have been on Waterford before so I am hoping to make that one.

I got an accusump and oil cooler I am trying to put on. I also am in the middle of fabbing up some brake ducts.

Also, do you think some of these events and the Nelsons experience I have would be enough to qualify me for a NASA school at Mid-Ohio? I am hoping to make the July 10th one.

Sounds good Mike! I think you would be fine for the NASA school but I would contact Dave Royce at the info below and tell him what you have done. Tell him I gave you this info.

Just wanted to let everyone know that registration for Calabogie is now open. This is a great track, and worth the drive. We will be running every other 30 minutes, so you will have more track time than you know what to do with.

Thanks
Ken
