Default plugs for track use?

Right now I'm using Delco Iridiums and I am wondering if any one has had detonation issues because of the small center electrode?
I'm asking because I have added headers and cold air intake.
I've been told that standard plugs have less problems with hot spots

GM engineers recommended I run FR1LS conventional plugs in my race engines.....The don't work with the early LS1's, but were great plugs for the LS6 style heads.

Been running your same plug in my 03 Z06 T1 car for 2 years now and no problems. Stock LS6 minus cats/mufflers and a tune. I was going to try the NGK TR55's that I heard good reviews on, but haven't got around to it.

They always looked good so I stuck to the theory of "If it aint broke, don't fix it"
