Awesome!

What led you to using a Q45 rear diff?

Huh. I came close to putting a small block in my '74. But what sealed the deal is I have one of the datsun racing 5 spds + R190 rear end. There is no way that they'd stand up to any sort of v8 torque. So I'm thinking now I'll put in an RB26 and leave the turbos off. It'll bolt right up to the trans, and won't make the kind of power that'll scatter the driveline.

I should figure out how to convert the rear to CVs instead of the ujoint/half shaft combo though. Really, I need a place to work on it though - hopefully soon, we're buying 20 acres. Surely I can find a place to put a shop on that.

The Q45 is a stronger rear diff than the R180/190/200 out of most of them. This one has a factory LSD and should be OK... The axles are ubber strong and heavy to boot!

Thing should flat fly!

Thanks guys!

Darius has had several iterations of that car, kind of like I have with all of mine. His videos are legendary around the internet...

We're both building these cars as DE/ trackday cars, and it's truly a great plaform to play with.

This car will weigh in at less than 2300# with full fluids and as rolling off the car trailer!

They're HEAVY cast TSWs... I've got them on there right now, but plan to upgrade to a CCW or something else after I get the rest done and the car to a few events...

PA Z06, The plan is to finish up the primary work, get it shook out on some local country road driving (antique tag) to make sure it doesn't have any initial teething pains. I want to get it to Summit Point for a Seat time event, and maybe the PCA Shenandoah event in April, and then after that I am shooting for the Chin event at VIR in July!

mgarfias, I'm using custom Koni adjustables, along with ground control coil overs and my own adjustable control arms with Ground Control camber plates up top. Car has infinate adjustability for the chassis. I can dial in up to 5 degrees negative camber at all corners!

Not bad, I'm still on the fence about what to do with the suspension on mine. Do I go your route (the easy way), or gut the body, build subframes, and run a double a-arm front and rear.

I'm sorta leaning to the latter, hopefully by the time I get around to it I'll have talked some sense into myself.

I've got full custom subframes that tie the front and rear together using boxed 2X3 tubing. I thought about going the Double A-arm route and found that it just wasn't worth the extra work. You can make the chapman arms work pretty well without spending the extra time and money to try the other solution. The key is to remember it's not a Corvette and you'll never make it into one...

I've been doing Zcars since 1987 and have owned two businesses focused on them, and had 22 of the 240/260/280 models. They are fun, for what they are. But they'll never be a Vette or a Porsche.

BTW, you have a GREAT source for parts in Arizona... www.arizonazcar.com... Tell Dave Mike Kelly sent you! He's very knowledgable and makes great suspensions for these cars, as well as great brake kits!

Heh, I'm moving to Oregon in about a month. And no funds for playtime for awhile (I'll be collecting tools). ANd yeah, its not a corvette, but it can be fun. Dad bought the car new in '74, and the thing hasn't been driven on the street since probably '80 or so. Its got a bunch of the original datsun race goodies, and a custom 25gal fuelcell for the back (I imagine I'll have to replace the bladder with a new one when I get around do it.

I'm anticipating that it'll be my track day car, and leave my Z06 for fun on the street. And of course, when thats done it'll be time for a real racer.
