Default Tire Rack Aluminum Jack ????

Hello All. Did a forum search for the Aluminum Jack being offered at Tire Rack and nothing shows. I'm about to add a jack to my track kit and am wondering if anyone has experience with this jack. It's a 2-ton and weighs 50 lbs., 15 pounds heavier than the Harbor Freight 1.5-ton favored by a lot of folks here. Opinions welcomed. Here's a link.

Thanks!

Looks nice, but its also really expensive! I have a HF special, and its been nothing but reliable for 3 years now.

I got one that looks very similar to that from Northwest Hardware for about $150 I think. It works very well, and is pretty light for a jack.

I really like my Harbor Freight jack. I bought it on sale for just over 50 bucks.

Thanks for the input, guys. HF may be the best way to go.

Anyone have any experience with the Tire Rack jack?

I dislike quick-lift jacks. They require too much force. Why do you want a quick-lift? Racing pit?

Just bought mine at HF last week end, they had it on sale for $79.
I have owned the larger version for years and have had no issues.

It matters not whether it's a quick lift. I'm just looking for respectable quality at a reasonable price. I certainly can't afford the $1,000 race jack with the funny name that I can't even pronounce.

But to me, given the money we all spend to satisfy our addition, $150 - $200 isn't too much for a piece of necessary equipment that will last for several seasons. Maybe a HF jack for less than $100 is the answer. Just doin' a little homework.

Thanks!
Bob

I have a HF and it's been fine. For the price even replacing it every couple of years it's still a bargain.

Lightweight and low profile. I love mine. One thing, check the nuts and bolts on a regular basis. They will loosen up over time, and if you aren't watching, you will suddenly realize one is missing. When I have time, I will add a little red locktite to all of them and call it a day.

I think your homework would lead one to buy the HF jack.....

Biggest difference I see is the lifting height. 14.75" for the HF jack, 19" for the one from Tire Rack. And the extra 500lb capacity of course. Personally, I will be looking at the one from Tire Rack.

I have the low profile Sears Craftsman I got for $55. Fits under my pucks without using ramps. I have used it frequently the past 2 months with no issues.

Me too. I've owned the larger one that cost me $129 on sale about 4 years ago. I use it a lot. Never had a problem. It weighs about 35lbs.

I just bought the smaller one on sale for $79. It weighs 24lbs. More useable for track weekends. Less bulky to bring with me just to change tires or bleed brakes.
