Default Seat Brace Question

For those of you with the r-dracing "Cross Bar". How did you attached your brace to the square tubing on the cross bar and which brand brace did you use? The more I think about a rear impact, the more it worries me that if my seat gives way, the 5 point harness is useless.

I've got a round bar so it wasn't a problem, but would square U bolts help the problem?

Is there a specific requirement for any degree of hardness for mounting bolts/nuts for a seat back brace?

Typical U-bolts that are made for square tubing (2" in the case of the R-D Racing Cross Bar) are mild steel. It might be hard to come up with a U-bolt that's a Grade 5 or higher material.

Grade 5 is plenty.
