Default 1 new 1 Old tire = problem?

So I have a VIR event coming up on Monday ... last week i found a Nail in my left rear tire..... I Knew I could not fix it and ordered a new one... When the new one came in I realized how much my orginal tire was worn I would think compared to the new tire the old one is at about 35% tread left .... not to the ware bars yet.... Does anyone think there is an issue running one brand new and one well used tire on the track?

Last week I ran 2 old race tires and 2 new race tires different brands it was fine. I didn't have problems until I blew an old race trire then had two new race tires, one old race tire and one street tire! They were three different sizes too. I bet you will be fine.

Boy .... 3 different sizes.... some would argue you would have screwed up your rake ..... would have a loose or tight condition and all heck would have broke loose.... but good to hear it all worked out... Thanks for the update I am quite sure my 4 same brand 1 new tires will be just fine based on your data :-)

I would put the best tire on the left side of the car at VIR.

I would just plug the old one, move it to the inside, and keep trucking.

However, unless the old one is total junk, I agree with rbl....just put the new one on the loaded side and forget about it.

Wouldn't two different sizes in the rear put extra wear on the diff as both wheels would want to turn at different speeds?
