FS: Nationally Fast 2001 T1/ST2 Z06
*** CAR AND TRAILER ARE SOLD ***
We've had to make some hard decisions recently, and unfortunately one of those is that it is time to sell the race car. I will still do some driving in other cars, but somebody else is going to get to enjoy this monster in 2009 and beyond. Doing this now will ensure that we have the opportunity to get back into racing again not too far down the road. We've proven that I can drive competitively, and that our family enjoys being a racing family - just need to give the checkbook a chance to recover from an income-less 2009!
So, here's the preliminary information - I'm working on a full page for the car on my website and will hopefully have it up later this weekend.
Price: 33,500
When I bought this car, I was looking for a low miles, very clean and very fresh T1 car. That's what I bought, and the car is still exactly that. There are other cars with more checkered past than this one, but this car has a very bright future.
Here are some lap times from this year, all on USED KUMHO V710's, and all before the interior removal which is worth about 100lbs (probably about 1 second). I honestly expect an experienced driver on Hoosier A6's to be 3 seconds faster (give or take) than these times.
Road Atlanta: 1:35.X
VIR: 2:06.X
CMP: 1:43.X
Roebling: 1:17.X
Nashville: 1:06.X
* 2001 Corvette Z06
* Built by Phoenix Performance in 2004
* 13k miles
* Full T1 Suspension including SACHS shocks
* GM Performance Tranny cooler with Weldon electric pump
* 3-Quart Accusump w/electric valve
* Ron Davis Racing aluminum radiator
* Doug Rippie Motorsports front brake cooling duct extensions
* Phoenix Performance brake cooling spindle mounts
* Setrab 19-row oil and tranny coolers
* Crate LS6 installed June 2008, only 4 races on new engine. Dyno'd 374 at the wheels after break-in, very likely 380 or so right now (will dyno the car to verify before sale)
* Will weigh car before sale is final, but I expect it to be under 3070lbs with a couple gallons of fuel and no driver
* Car is updated to 2009 rules except that it has a brand new set of C5 Z06 calipers installed instead of newly allowed C6 calipers
* Cats removed, Dr. Gas X-Pipe installed in place of them
* Full 3-inch stainless exhaust from X-pipe to tailpipe
* Recaro Pro Road Race HANS full-containment seat (SCCA & NASA legal)
* Schroth 6-point HANS harnesses
* Hardbar Delrin shift **** (OEM shift **** included also)
* Racing Electronics complete driver/crew radio set plus scanner that plugs directly into crew headset
* AMB transponder hard-wired into the front of the car
* Sparco steering wheel with LTB quick-release
* Brand new (1 autocross only) C5 Z06 brake calipers all around
* Car has brand new fluids - 0 hours (engine oil, tranny and diff)
There may be equally clean and/or fast cars available, but I have yet to see one that comes with as extensive of a set of spares and supplies as mine. You could buy this package on Friday and be racing - and winning - on Saturday with nothing more than what's included and a decent set of rubber:
* 3 sets matching Kodiak 17x10/17x11 super light wheels - black center
* One set good Hoosier Rain tires and 2 sets of Kumho 710 scrubs (good practice tires, not enough left for good racing on them)
* 1 full 55-gallon drum of 102-octane race fuel with manual pump (works excellent)
* 8 brand new pairs of front brake rotors
* 3 brand new and one slightly used set of Hawk DTC-70 front pads
* 4 brand new pairs of rear brake rotors
* 2 brand new and one slightly used set of Hawk DTC-60 rear pads
* 6+ unopened bottles of Motul RBF 600 brake fluid
* 4+ quarts of AMSOIL Tranny fluid
* 4+ quarts of AMSOIL SevereGear Diff Fluid
* 6 quarts AMSOIL 20W-50 Racing Engine Oil
* 2 bottles Water Wetter
* 9 WIX/NAPA Gold Oil Filters
* New upper/lower radiator hoses
* Spares include (used but still good) rear tie rod, clutch, flywheel, full set of calipers, wheel bearings, thermostat housing, 2 ECU's, and more
I will deliver the car for free within 500 miles of zipcode 37066. If you want delivery further away than that, we can work out a very reasonable deal.
Also, if you're a West coaster, I have a car in Washington that I need to bring this way. So, I could even possibly deliver the car to the West coast for a very reasonable fee.
I am also selling my 28' enclosed trailer built by Team Spirit. It has cabinets in front, awning, halogen outdoor lights, 12V and 120V indoor lights and 5200lb axles. Buy them both together for $40k. I will list the trailer separately once the car is sold.
Here are just a few pictures, many more will be up on the website soon and available for those interested. I'm still working on adding some heat insulation to the exhaust and center tunnel to finish the interior removal. It is, and will be when complete, a first-class job.
Thanks for looking guys!

Damn! I hate to see you sell it, Mikah!
That's great price for a nice car and tons of spares.

Sucks dooood !!!
I thought you had a new job out on the left coast that was not going to leave you income less ????
Hate to see anyone have to sell their stuff......Priorities can suck.
Hope to see you back in the racing world sometime soon.

The hardest part about this decision is that we don't have to do it, it just makes the most sense to do it. I'm nothing if not stubborn and it's taken me a couple of months of soul-searching to be able to make this decision. There are two silver linings to this cloud though:
1) In 5 years, I should be in a good position to purchase and race a C6 (C7?) without the budget concerns we faced this year.
2) This gives me some more time and a little free cash to work on my 1970 Dodge Charger that needs to be fixed up to be even less practical than it already is.
Thanks for the support and interest guys,
SALE IS PENDING ON CAR AND TRAILER

As I told you on the phone, you will be thrilled with this car and amazed at the ease with which you find speed in it.
