Anyone seen this custom C2 track car out of Tx?
Hi All
Anyone seen this custom C2 track car out of Tx?
It has the ugliest rear bumper I've ever seen
It has some Aggie Cross, (autocross) and drag race history from the early 80s out of Huston area.
I'm looking at the possibility of buying it locally.

any guesses on what a buying price should be?
Thanks
Evan

A buy price could depend on a lot of things. What engine, Transmission, rear end, and type of suspension are in the car ?? What is the overall mechanical shape ?? What is the age of the tires - possible replacement ? Are modifications going to need to be made to the roll bar ? From the picture it looks like it is very close to the steering wheel and would hamper any arm movement required for serious track use other than drags? I agree that the body work is BUTT UGLY !! My guess would be a low of 6-8K if it needs a lot of work to 12-15 for a solid strong small block car and a top of who knows depending on goodies installed - IE aluminum big block, full race suspension, built tranny and rear end. Really tough to call

I would agree, but it depends on very different things.
First: What do you plan to use the car for
Second: What sanctioning organization do you plan to run with.
Third: What are their rules....and can this car comply with them?

I expect i would hot lap it and instruct and not vintage race, motor is warm 350, not a race motor, Muncie and 3.70s out back.
THinks my main problem w the car is it's just ugly

I am a member of the A&M sports car club and I could ask some questions there about its history. I dont know that anybody would remember it for sure, but if its been around within the last 10 years or so I imagine there might be a little info on it.

Wow, that is a nasty combination of C2 and C3 body parts. Did you get any photos of the chassis? Obviously, the body work can be fixed or changed so I don't think I would worry about that so much. Have a look at Richard Newton's web site for Corvette race cars for sale. That will give you an idea of what they are going for these days. http://web.me.com/richardnewton/Corv...ette_Home.html
