Default FS: New VB&P Transverse Leaf Springs

SOLD

I decided to go with coil-overs, so I don't need these anymore. These are the same springs that VB&P provides with their Extreme Touring Package.

They are posted in the C5 parts for sale section here: New Springs, including pictures

I am asking $650 for everything, shipped to the lower 48.

Front spring is 993 lb. and the rear is 734 lb. I guess I should have just replicated the post...didn't want to get accused of cross-posting.

The link in my original post above "should" take you to the thread in C5 Parts for sale. Links to pictures are there.

I have someone interested in the rear spring, if someone else wants the front, perhaps we can work something out.

Humm thats even more tempting. The front is all I really need. What would you take for it? Shipped price to Knoxville, TN 37909

P.S. I'm a college student on a tight budget so go easy on me

Damn, what did I do wrong in college - I drove one of those taxi-cab Impalas with something stupid like 200,000 miles, of course I had to change the cam.

I would look to split things in half and add $10 to each for additional shipping and general pain. So, $335 shipped. Hardware for the front would go with the front, and Spring bolts would go with the rear.

Any deal would be contingent upon performance by both parties involved with the understanding that if someone else ponies up for the whole kit prior to you and the other guy getting me money; then I will sell the whole kit as one. Obviously I would refund your money.

T1 front spring rate is a 582lb if I'm not mistaken. So this one is quite a bit stiffer.

Shamelessly stolen and adapted from a post by gkmccready. C6 springs and coil-over info removed for clarity.

Springs:
* C5 Z06: 526# Front, 714# Rear
* T1 (C5): 582# Front, 793# Rear
* VBP Sport 990# Front, 650# Rear
* VBP Extreme 1050# Front, 855# Rear

With respect to the T1 specs...T1 specs do not represent the best possible (insert favorite car part here). They represent a well thought out improvement over stock where, when combined with the rest of the parts in the spec, define an affordable , raceable configuration.

Before I purchased the springs I did a bit of research, including in this forum. I was convinced that they were what I needed to suit my needs and budget. So then, like a dumb a$$, I bought coil-overs during the off season. I say that because I went with the springs specifically because I didn't want to cough up for coil-overs - oops.

I don't think the GM "read" T1 and stock Z06 springs are measured the same as VBP.

For example look at the rates of the GM stuff....much higher in the rear...(it's all voodoo to me).

I believe T1's create to much of a "push" in the car for autox.....prob a good idea on the track...but I don't think so for autox.

PS...i use a VBP spring in the front of my ASP car....it works pretty good, I know because I can't drive for beans, but the car does ok.

I talked to VBP about springs a while back, GM (or, rather Corvette Forum posts somewhere) say the C6 Base comes with 420#/620# ... VBP said their rig measures the stockers between 400-420# and 600-620#. Seems like they measure pretty darn close.

Who knows what the rig measures versus what the car sees when it comes to motion ratios, etc, though.

I can't believe these haven't sold yet. For what it's worth, I believe the front spring will work on a C6 and would make a great upgrade while keeping the stock rear spring in place... should you choose to split them, anyway...

I figured at that price they would fly out of the garage, guess people need a track day or two before they get the bug going again.
