Default Tighten up RV Mirror on C5

My 2000 C5 does not seem to have away to tighten up an interior rear view mirror that finds itself pointed down at the console rather than rearward after a lap at Pocono.
How do you tighten them up?

I just replace it when it droops or shakes

I think the last car I had where you could tighten the rearview was a 1961 MGA.

Replace.

They are getting expensive too, the more chit they build into them.

Maybe find a basic aftermarket mirror for less. Google it.

Try a very small hose clamp around the socket part, tighten just right & wrap with black tape so it won't look so bad.

I am not sure if the C5 is the same but on the C6 the mirror is a pinch fit on a cam and twists off. There are 2 pins like roll pins inside (they are special) and you can try bending them a little toward center then reinstall the mirror and see if it is tighter.

On the C6 this seems to be a one time install and after that it is a little loose but usable.

I also have a new one (in the box) for a C6 and they cost about $150. It is the electronic one and available for $100.

Rich, you could always reduce vibration by slowing down, then my old C-4 might be able to stay in your view mirror - just a thought! Hope to see you at CVCC Pocono.
