Default c5z throttle lag?

I was getting a sense, yesterday at autox, that the throttle by wire had a very slightr amount of lag in it, not a "flat spot" and not enough to notice in normal driving, but autox where you are on/off throttle maybe a dozen times in 1 min 1 lap, it just seemed to be a micro second of lag.

Anyone have an input on this?

None that I have ever noticed. Although it will not open the throttle more than what is needed where a human would tend to open it to far.

was TC/AH on???? That certainly adds restriction that feels like a lag.

I should have stated, tc/ah OFF.

Is there any lag AT ALL programmed into the throttle by wire?

Not sure what you are stating about how this system works?

tc/ah off.

Are you saying if your right foot says wot, that the throttle control system will NOT give it?

Just asking & trying to understand your point Bill.

I noticed the lag shortly after buying my car. It drove me nuts when I thought about it as I drove, but like everything else, I adapted to it and now only notice it if I look for it. Best way to feel it is, at a steady highway speed, rapidly tap and release the gas pedal. The engine's response will lag.

When you step on the gas pedal, a sensor picks up the movement, and the ECM responds, commanding the stepper motor controlling the TB to rotate to a new position. All of this adds a very small amount of lag. Personally, I'd rather have a throttle cable.

yup, its part of torque management. Hook up a scan tool and watch throttle position readings in relation to your foot position. Also watch how long it takes for a fully open throttle blade after stomping the accelerator pedal. I've seen C5 and C6 track cars get converted to a cable operated throttle body just to get rid of the drive by wire lag. Makes it easier to control oversteer.

I noticed that in my old TPI motor.
like a 1/2 second lag between throttle and RPM's increasing.

But no lag in my LT4

See post #9. The relationship between your accelerator pedal and the tb is not linear. Under load, a scan tool with throttle position readout will clearly demonstrate this relationship.
