Best autoX tires for OME Speedline wheels
I have a C5Z 2003. I'm looking for the best performance using either standard wheels or four 10.5 OME rear Speedlines. I understand that Hoosiers 295/35-17 F and 315/30-18 R are commonly used. I have also seen Kumho 305/30-18 F and 315/35-18 R used (do they fit without any modifications?).
I understand that Kumhos last longer but perform slightly less well. Is that still the case when the above larger tire size is used with Kumho, would the small size difference compensate for the performance difference of the rubber?

I don't think you will notice much of a difference between the two if you are new to r-compound tires. If you are trying to get every ounce of performance from the car, the Hoosier 295/315 combo is pretty much the standard in SCCA SS class.

No particular class
I happen to have some speedline wheels which are light and inexpensive and do not force me to make modifications such as tubbing or using longer bolts or spacers. I just do local events and I am in the top class as it is in Ottawa, Canada.

Does the balance of the car change much, as compared to 295 F/315 R?
Would it be desirable to have less understeer with the bigger front tire? Or does skillful trailbreaking take care of all that?

Just curious: what is the size of the Kumhos
Just curious: what is the size of the Kumhos in the picture? The telephoto takes away some of the perspective related to distance so its hard to tell what the size of the front and the back wheels/tires is.
Thanks for your input
