Default External Cracks on C5Z Transmission Case???

I helped a buddy change fluids in his C5 Z today and noticed what looked like crazing lines in the transmission casting. The exterior was bone dry and the crazing was limited to the bottom portion of the casting, more in the rear. Some crazing noticed near and above the first set of longitudinal ribs of the case.

Is this normal? I did not have a chance to crawl under mine yet to look.

Mine has a bit of it too, seems to be normal for aluminium castings I'm not sure how serious it is mine has 116,000 mile and quite a bit of track time. It's been evident to me since the first fluid change at 25,000 miles
