Default Lap times at Lime Rock Park

What would be considered fast lap times at LRP in the classic configuration? In a "street car"?

I ran 59s in a stock 2003 Z06 on scrubs in high 30 degree weather.

IMO sub 1 minute is very fast

I dont have a lap timer in my car or any other kind of timing equip. so I just looked at the elapsed time on the incar video and took note of a landmark on the track. Out of the 100 or so laps we did Saturday I probably only had about 3 or 4 without traffic in front of me and I think my best was about 1:02.

I found this http://www.scca-nnjr.org/PDF/2007-09...esultsOnly.pdf

Looks like T1 is 58 ish, mind you a race lap is not the same as a TT lap, I would guess a T1 car should be able to run a 56 in a TT

08/03/2008 SCCA National Race Results
LIME ROCK PARK - Lakeville, Connecticut

Class
T1
First 0:58.030
Philip DiPippo
Chevrolet Corvette (C6 '07)

Second 0:58.259
Jason Berkeley (C5 Z06)
Chevrolet Corvette

Third 0:58.437

And there is more out there. We all had really bad blistering problems with the tires. There were literally giant holes in at least one of all of our tires. Lucky no one got a blow out before the race ended.

If your not an SCCA member, this months SportsCar magazine, which you get as a member, has a nice article about going fast at LimeRock.

With street tires and setup I'd say more in the 1:10 range. That was my very first track event and I was slower than that, but on hard street tires (treadware 300) and completely stock setup.

Another guy (experienced) in a race C-5 clocked a 1:04, and his wife (less experienced) also in a race C5 clocked in the 1:1X's as well.

How "Street" is your setup?

In March 2004 I ran 1:08.74 firebird (BFG KD)street tire, March 2006 1:06.8 more power same street tires (Worn out BFG KD). I drove a 02 Zo-6 for 2 sessions best I got was aprox 1:11s stock. Wasnt comfortable, felt faster than that. Next session I ran the fastest time in my Firebird.

John

sounds like the 1 minute mark is very respectable for a semi stock C5 Z06

Yes, very. With the new pavement, it is a little quicker. The names on that record board reads like the who's who of racing. I just cannot imagine 43 seconds there....

Wow 59:x in the wet is amazing. My goal is to get to 58 on street tires but I am going to cheat this week and put pilot cups on. My run flats are starting to look like slicks
If anyone has any video of runs like this please post I would love to see them.
