Call Robert at SpeedSouth. He will give you all the info you need. He is active with SCCA and also with a group of local Corvette owners who frequent the track. He can definitely help you with getting your car ready. His number is 205-621-6041.

Also check out the NASA-SE folks, they will be at Barber the end of May!
Road Atlanta isn't that far - about 3 hours (just guessing based on its less than an hour from my house and its only 2 hours to Barber)

Thanks guys. Give me a call or send me an e-mail and we'll talk about some of the clubs that come to BMP. I've also got some handy checklists, etc. that will make your preparations before the event as hassle free as possible.

Helmet SA2000 or SA 2005
Get a new SA2005 if you don't have one - it will be good for 10 years if you dont bounce it around.
Car prep - recommend fresh fluids, a more agressive front brake pads
When I first started all I had was a helmet and PFC-Z pads on an 88 Auto.
When I went to wearing the collar I found my neck felt much better at night and the next day.
Shoot my corvette developed an engine problem tuesday and I'm out here at CMP with my DD V6 rustang! Did a full break fluid change this morning, put the best pads I could find on it and we'll see tomorrow if I can keep up.

Shoot me an e-mail and we'll talk about the prep. I can also reply with a checklist that I use that will allow you to feel as prepared as possible when you arrive at the track and comfortable throughout the w/e.
