A few in-car Beast videos from Katech's Track Attack 2009 Autobahn South Track!
It was the second annual event and the weather cooperated with 70 degrees and a dry track. All the students did a great job in all levels and kept it an incident free event, the best kind.
I installed the new Pfadt front sway bar and as you can see in the video, the car is extremely stable. Aaron and crew were on hand as a supporting vendor. They helped many participants with car set up.
Andy Pilgrim and Johnny O'Connell attended and shared invaluable driving lessons and gave everybody champ rides.
Despite the fact that I have more HP and aero, Frank Gonzalez made me work keeping up. That man drove his Z06 to it's absolute limit. Dvandentop was my passenger and climbed out of the car all grins afterwards. Derek, you there?
Everett's 650HP Mosler was a serious machine with a lb/hp ratio under 4:1.

# 12,
Are you sure all this much fun is legal? Is there something in the gene pool that makes track drivers great people? Your videos are the next best thing to being there, thanx! Frank sure can drive!

The car sounds great Mike! Looks like you guys had the track to yourselves. I like the rear view camera, although you have to glance at it quickly before the cars behind vanish. I'm afraid I missed an awesome track day weekend. See you at VIR next month.

Frank was on crutches to boot due to a bone spur. A few guys asked if he was still going to drive. He had them feel his wrist and said if there's still a pulse, I'm driving!

Come see another mano-a-mano between Mike and I. This time it will be videotaped.
I will have a SLIGHT advantage because I know the track and Mike doesn't (I have to hang my hat on that because otherwise I'm a dead man walking against the Beast).

Mike, what a great place you have. I want to thank you again for allowing me to ride shotgun in your car with Johnny O at the helm, what a treat. Hope one day you can come to Alabama and bring the beast to Barbers you would love the track. David Leonard.

The Mosler (MT900 KR) is ridiculously fast now.
In terms of comparison, the MT900 KR is much lighter. The Beast has more aero and currently more grip (I was running Pirelli D5 slicks). I just installed a massive endurance brake system but given the MT's weight advantage, I'm not sure how this equates. The MT runs spherical bearings like mine so suspension-wise it's probably just as nimble, if not more
Perhaps next year we can get some better performance comps, but this event Everett was simply enjoying his new creation. I was simply too busy driving or instructing to coordinate a session with Pilgrim or O'Connell driving Everett's car.
Everett's very first mile driving it was on track since the upgrade, so credit to him for being a cowboy! I don't blame him being careful with it.
The sound the car makes now was well worth the upgrade dollars alone IMO.

That's a great question and I wish I had a better answer than this:

I do wish we had the lap times for a couple of Andy's hot laps in the car once he felt the tires had come in - it felt fast as hell to me, and based on his description of the power, the G forces, and the aero I think he thought it was rather quick as well. It really seemed to shine in 4, 5 and the kink, and maybe just a little on the straight!
