First HPDE in the C4
That should say first HPDE ever. I went to Summit Point Shenandoah circuit over the weekend with Track Daze. They were a great group of people, all very friendly and all seemed to know what they were doing. Both myself and the car came home in one piece which is always a good thing, especially since the car is WAY better than the driver in this case. Only mechanical problem was an oil pressure sending unit gone bad that made me think I lost oil pressure. Got it fixed up quickly and didn't miss a single session. I think there were quite a few people surprised to see the lowly C4 passing some C5s and C6s Can't wait to get it out on the track again!

glad you had a great time.
Trackdaze is an excellent group to run with, very professional and you get lots of seat time for the price. I'm usually at their Shenandoah events in May and October but couldn't make this one due to some prior commitments. I'll be back next year though.
For your first on track experience Shenandoah is one hell of a circuit to run on...

Thunder is right. That car is just plain WICKED. I can't believe how hard that car pulls when you push the loud pedal. I love all Corvettes, but I have to admit that watching the C6s disappearing in the mirror in the corners AND on the straights made me grin.
There were quite a few people that recognized it from it's past escapades. I ran 7 30 minute sessions and the only problem was that sending unit (and some worn out rear tires). Somebody must have done a pretty good job of building it!

I second that!
I was there too. That's me in the red C6 "behind" redls1gto. What a BLAST!!!
But, I must clarify, the session you were pulling away from me was the one I was only allowed to use 4th gear...

It was awesome to see the other Vettes out there. It really is amazing how good they look on a track, even in showroom stock form.
<~~~ I just noticed you are in my avatar pic too!

Sounds to me like you should send Shrek some more $$$$$$
Faster than C5's & C6's should be worth at least an extra 10K
Hey Shrek,
If this works out for you, remember I'm your best buddy.

Safety Car
I ran my first DEs at Summit with Car Guys. That was a while ago. I miss Summit. H*ll, I miss all the track that have real elevation changes. I'm not sure I could even drive on a track that has a downhill section. I've been in Florida too long.
You just have to love Summit it a C4.

Burning Brakes
What a fun weekend. I was in the black FRC in the intermediate group. There were a surprising number of Vettes in attendance - seven I believe. The Karousel about ruined that rubber skirt under the nose, I tried to go thru there slow but most of the time it rubbed continuously. I rode with Jeff (instructor in the red C5 Z06) for one session, that was a blast. Taught me two new lines which I subsequently tried and loved...thanks Jeff.
It was nice meeting some of you guys. Anyone going to the Trackdaze event at Thunderbolt in June? Hope to see you there. Brad.
Here are a few picks.

Hey Brian, Why does your instructor look like he just crapped his pants?
Great picture argonaut!!
He probably just did
How would you feel in that car, with somebody who had never seen the track and never driven that car before? I should also mention that it was on a wet track with the Hoosiers the first time out...
I was joking with him most of the weekend that those instructors must be a little crazy to get in cars like that with people who may or may not have the slightest clue what they are doing.
