Default Thumping Noise in Rear when Cornering

Spent the weekend autocrossing at a Go Kart track. The track is rough and I was getting some loud thumping in the rear while cornering in the rough sections. Not sure what was causing it. I had the car on the lift today and cannot see anything wrong. Suspect I may have a bad shock but not sure what one would sound like. Any suggestions on what the problem may be? I have a track day coming up on Thursday so would like to figure out what it is before then.

Bill

i have occasional problem with driver side muffler shifting outwards and exhaust pipe that goes into it hitting something when turning hard. worth checking...
