Questions for Accusump owners or manufacturers
I have a C6 coupe, 2006 w/ Z51. I will be installing an accusump to protect the engine from oil starvation during heavy braking and hard cornering during track days.
I had an accusump in my C5 before I sold it, so I'm very aware of the benefits/reasons for having one. The cost of having the accusump removed from the C5 (labor charges) versus the value of the accusump parts, determined that it would remain in the car when I sold it.
My questions are:
Where did you put it? Where does it fit in a C6? The car will be daily driven also, so keep that in mind when deciding on a mounting location. (For example, inside the passenger cockpit is not a good option.)
Which accusump did you use? Canton, Moroso, etc? 3-quart, 2-quart, or 1 1/2 quart? I'm hoping to install a 3-quart size for maximum protection.
How did you plumb it into the oil system?
If you have a general list of the installation hardware you used, that would be helpful also. Any other experiences, lessons-learned, tips, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Race Director
this sums up the hardware I use for mounting to LS engines.....

As for location, I'm not best to help with that.

Safety Car
I'd like to install one myself next winter in my '07 C6, so I'll be watching this thread.
I think the majority of folks that put them in "non-race" C5/C6s use the area behind the front fender. If its a racecar, probably just in the cabin somewhere I'd suppose.

Bob ,
You have an e-mail...........
Rob,
I have already told you boy Dale how to do it.....
Webz's car had one installed last Jan., or so..... I had heard that there was no place to put a 3-quart unit in a C6.....
I dont like the way most plumb their accusumps.....straight to the engine bearings, no where else.
