I'm running Time Trials this month at Infineon (aka Sears Point).

I'll be there June 27-28. Anyone on the forum who runs that track?

Any tips, secrets, good videos, sage advice would be greatly appreciated. Better yet, join us there.

the key to infineon is to be fast through the esses and turn 10. it's more difficult and more important if you use the fast turn 9. if you use the chicane (9a) it's a lot easier.

turn 11: it's better to brake early than to be too late and overshoot it. it's a somewhat difficult turn because it looks like there is so much track at the turn-in -- and there is, but it's all runoff. stay tight in to the tires and be patient getting back to throttle. infineon is different every time because the tires marking the inside of T11 aren't precisely placed. but usually they are setup so your right side tires are inside the curbing. when i say to stay tight i mean to ignore the apex curbing and use the tires as your guide to where the line is. if someone nudges the tires during the day (*cough*), take advantage the now shorter track.

there are some secrets but they are hard earned ... you will need to put some time in on this track to be very quick there.

It isn't the "school line" in several places but that is what makes
Lou a Pro as he gets more out of the car than others. If late
apex's are safe, this is not a 'safe' lap, but it is fast. Have fun

Sears is full of blind rises and long, late apex corners. If you haven't been there, I'd watch as much video as you can. It is the most difficult track to learn I've been to, and mastering it is another story.

I love Sears, but it has a habit of eating cars. I was hanging out a few weekends at a shop on-site effectively between T10 and T11 and saw many a wrecker roll by. It's not like Thunderhill where it's actually hard to hit something.

That said, I still love running the place.

WOW! Thanks for the incredible feedback. The track guide is really informative and detailed. As for the video, my computer at work has youtube blocked so I' ll have to access that at home.

The "eating cars" phrase is a little intimidating, but I run at Phoenix which has the same reputation. It's "par for the course". I'll do my homework and be as prepared as possible.
