How to get more head room for Track Days?
Maybe there is no option, hoping you guys can help
I have a 08Z06 with 2lz
Problem is my helmet rubs the roof, by the time i finish my run my neck is sore.
I have my seat at the lowest setting, I even have to lean my seat back more then I should. Absolutely the wrong driving position.
Thanks, hope some have some ideas

Are you willing to modify your car? i.e. removing headliner...racing seat, etc.
If not, removing your stock bottom cushion and cover might help. You could also look for different helmet designs - specifically one with a "flatter top" that didn't stick up so much.
It's a minute (mi-noot) thing, but make sure you are wearing a thin driving suit...and not a 3-layer job that's really thick.
If you're not willing to mod your car, your options are limited. You can try going to some extreme angles with your seat too - move the seat forward and then recline it WAY back to give your head some room. Your knees might hit the lower dash or make driving impossible, but you'll have to play around with it some more and see.
The easy answer though is a good racing seat.

Head above the b pillar, not a good idea. Put in a good racing seat and a lower seat mount. We have one available that will drop right on your standard seat bolts using a Kirkey deluxe road racing seat. You can get pretty low with this combination.

I use a hardbar seat rail kit with a Cobra seat. Gary Hoffman (Hardbar) makes some great stuff and powder coated mine white to match the car. It's top notch work...and light!!!!

With the Cobra Suzuka and Imola seat and Gary's mount. I'm less that 1 inch from the floor. And that's the floor, not the carpet.

Yep, I have the clear roof too and have plenty of room! I'm 6' 3" and fit fairly easily. I have the seat back as far as it will go (long legs!!!!), but I know of taller folks who also fit with no issues.
Gary, you want to chime in on this one???

Our rail kit takes the seat as low as you can get, which is about 3-4 inches lower than you have now. It is an easy bolt in, bolt out, so that you can swap from the race seat to the stock seat. We invented this type of seat mount, (have been making this for 10 years now) and have gone through constant improvements. We use only the best alloys, fasteners, and they have been crash tested by some of the best! In stock for immediate delivery.
Thanks,
Gary

You can gain a LOT of headroom in the C6Z06 by simply removing the headliner.......the black liner hang several inches below the actual roof near the rear section. Ours has been out for 3 years!

I have gained about 1" of headroom by extending the springs that support the the seat cushion. I added a very thick 1/2" split washer between the springs and the attachment point on the seat pan.

I'm 6'2", but long in the torso and even an 1/2" of extra room would be helpful; I have a decent seating position, but still occasionally bump the roof panel in my C6.

I find that tilting the wheel up givers her the most room.
