Do you have to remove the piston from it's bore to remove the dust boot?:o

No. You don't even have to take the caliper all the way off the car. If they are already half burnt off just grab part of it and pull. If soome of the burnt part is stuck I used a small jewlers screwdriver to get it out.
If they aren't burnt yey they will just pull out easily.
This is assuming a C5 or C6. I don't know if a C6Z06 is different.

Thanks. It's on my C5. Half of the boot is completely missing on one caliper, but I couldn't tell if I could just ****** it off of there when I was pulling on it - didn't want to leave some of it stuck inside there.
