C5, C6 & C6Z Modular Drop Spindles are here
They're here, they're here, they're here!!!
We have been talking about a modular Drop spindle for the C5 and C6 for some time, and now the testing and machining is all figured out and they are ready to ship.
These spindles are CNC machined out of Billet, deburred and then hard annodized. They lower the ride height by 1" while raising the roll centers. The spindle height is adjustable (with captured shims) allowing you to alter the camber gain curve (yet they come already set up with the stock camber curve). The steering knuckles are also shimable to adjust the speed of the steering (More shims slows down the steering & visa versa). They even have modular, rebuildable ball joints.
The modular design of the upright can even eliminate the unsprung weight that BBK caliper adapters brackets, as we can fabricate caliper mounts that bolt directly to the spindle.
We can also provide these with either stock bearings, SKF racing bearings, stock lug studs, GM performance lug studs or ARP lug studs. They work best with a stock length shock.
Shocks, both standard and coil over can be provided as well from several manufacturers, such as Penske, QA1, Ohlins & Eibach.
So here is a vision to throw around...
...MSI Modular spindle, Penske coil over three way adjustable shocks, AP airbridge Euro Supercar calipers with PFC 05 race pads, PFC Direct Drive Rotors, mounted on SKF racing hubs with ARP Lug studs.
I think that I need to go take a cold shower and lie down.
By the way, They are priced at $4999 for a set of four uprights (hubs not included).
PS. For those not wanting to run the stock style bearing/speed sensor type bearing, we can build them with a traditional spindle that will use a standard timkin bearing that you can pick up at any auto parts store. This will be very helpful for the race car builders as well as some of the pro-touring builders as well.
