I am on a team with a '87 RX-7 I would be interested in the answer to the OP questions also.
This is my first time doing it but here is a link. I will be at the Nelson Ledges one in October, which one are you doing?

Depending on which track you will be running your mileage may vary on the following advice. The first race we ran stock pads and fluid with the calipers on it. Bad move as we over heated them saturday and boiled the fluid but had 60 percent left. Switched to Valvoline syn fluid and ran out of pads in about 2 hours ... Melted pads to the calipers before we were done.

Ran the April race at CMP and switched to new calipers same rotors and Hawk Blue 9012 pads with air ducts. We had plenty of brakes for the 10 hours or so we ran.
Normal endurance road racing tips apply here also:
Run clean and stay out of traffic that looks like a problem is about to happen because it will. A radio setup is really nice. Keep a spotter watching the car at all times. A cool suit setup for hot races is a must. Rainx the windshield. Bribe the judges. Paint the car some obnoxious scheme, so you can spot it easily on track.
