Don't let the absence of spider cracks
Fool you. It did me.
I look at the rotors every time I go to an event and after every session but I don't always take the wheels off.
Flipping tires today and the left rear rotor had a 1.5" through and through crack extending to the outside of the rotor on it.
Had I just looked at the rotor with the wheel on, I most likely would have missed it and not even suspected it due to the very good looking rest of the rotor.
It must have cracked during the end of my last session because I did not feel it at all. Glad it did not come apart on me. It was not there when I put new brakes on before the last event.
I will now be taking all 4 wheels off and checking the rotors prior to each event
Just a lesson learned to share.
Will post a pic in the AM when I get my camera out of the truck.

I have had about 3-4 in the last 20 years, I now have a 28V Li-ion Milwaukee. I have 2 of the drills as well (so one can stay clean for woodworking) that use the same batteries. Bigger is better in this game, who cares what it weighs?

So we have spindle ducts for the inside, why not a carbon fibre piece that wraps around the rotor, like the caliper, to put air on the outside? With 18" wheels and 13" or 14" rotors it seems like there's quite a bit of room?

I've typically felt cracks like that through the brake pedal. All were due to inadequate cool-down before parking the car, so the 'thump' was felt when I went out for another session.

This happened to me Sunday...1st session over---car cooled---2nd session started I could feel the cracked rotor through the pedal the first time I applied the brakes.
