NASA Time Trial Question
just looking for a little confirmation, does NASA TT still allow completely stock street cars, with no safety equipment??? Basically just go through HPDE tech, then hit the track????
Reading the rules, it looks like the Recommend a fire extinguisher, and you need a transponder, but otherwise just run???
Also, looks like the C6Z06 would run in TTU....anyone confirm that??? Looks like it would take nearly 600hp to run TTR.
Thanks!

I have a NASA competition license, and have run TT in my race cars, but was thinking of taking the Z06 to Lowes.............however I need a sponsor to pay my $200 entry fee
I live 4 miles from Lows, so I hate to miss it.

This year in Texas Region they issued us TT'ers a log book and we go through tech at the beginning of the year. After that we take our log book and a HPDE tech sheet to tech and they sign off and give us a tech sticker. We don't have to take our cars through.
This past weekend they didn't have enough cars for seperate TT so they put us in with DE cars. But it worked out ok. The DE guys saw us coming and got out of the way most of the time.
My first time to run TT last year, they didn't require a check ride.
May be different in other regions.

yes, I saw that about optionally doing an annual tech...... that's a great option, and would be great if they did it for DE as well (at least one of my local clubs does, and it's very handy)
Again, I have a NASA license, so no "check ride" should be required.
So anybody confirm the classing. It's completely stock except for tires and brakes. It's just for fun, but I prefer to work it out BEFORE getting protested!

TTU is the same as ST1, so its weight/hp >= 5.5

"Certified Dyno reports are potentially valid for up to a maximum of three years (provided that no changes have been made to the vehicle that would alter Dyno readings). However, at his discretion, a NASA TT Director may require an updated certified Dyno report (at the driver’s/owner’s expense) after one year from the date of the previous report."
I don't think it'll be a big deal, since stock C6z is nowhere near the limit for TTU

David, a check ride should be waived, but be aware that a comp license doesn't mean you can drive TT. In other words, you'll probably have to spring for a separate TT license. I ran TT last month to shake down a new build, and had to buy an annual TT license even though I already have a valid 2009 comp license.
Perhaps you can get it waived since you're in a different region or for one event, but just a heads up.

I'll as Julie if I decide to register. I did TT's a few years ago, and they never made me get a TT license. I've never heard of a group that didn't allow a wheel-to-wheel license to cover TT/Solo etc, but NASA is a money machine after all!
